Ph.D. Students
There is a Joint Doctoral Program (JDP) between College of Engineering at San Diego State University and College of Engineering at University of California, San Diego. Students who are interested in applying to this program may acquire more information at http://www.engineering.sdsu.edu/main/jdp.htm#.
In general the following financial benefits might be given to the Ph.D. students:
1. Tuition waiver for the first five years. 2. Research Assistantship if a research fund is available. 3. Teaching position such as Teaching Assistantship or Graduate Assistantship to selected highly qualified students.
Minimum requirements to apply to the JDP program are:
1. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from an acceptable institution. 2. Applicants must meet the requirements for classified admission to the Graduate Division of both SDSU and UCSD. 3. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 in the major field for students with a B.S. or 3.5 for students with the M.S. degree is required. 4. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) with minimum score of 750 in the quantitative part.
